On the finish of the Seven Years War in 1763, Frederick the Nice started building his so much ambitious project to celebrate Prussia’s good fortune: the New Palace of Sanssouci. The Palace is located within the Sanssouci Royal Park in Potsdam, Germany, and is regarded as to be the last Nice Prussian baroque palace. Magnificent ballrooms, spectacular galleries, handsomely furnished apartments, a baroque palace theater – all ensured that visitors from the German and European aristocracy may celebrate in taste. As a gourmet of coloured natural stones, King Frederick had a keen interest within the plentiful resources of Silesia and a sovereign right to all precious stones.
