Description

The David Oscarson Les Quatre Couleurs w/ Gold Vermeil in Opaque White, Black and Translucent Ruby Red Laborious Enamel Rollerball Pen .The David Oscarson Les Quatre Couleurs Fountain Pen is the thirteenth within the David Oscarson series of Restricted Edition writing instruments.

The Collection continues within the spirit of artistic mastery and the tradition of Old World craftsmanship by combining the centuries-old method of Guilloché with the art and expertise of Laborious Enamel. The Harvest Collection is the primary to include three levels of Guilloché and two colors of Laborious Enamel on every Collection piece. Five breathtaking colors of translucent Laborious enamel are then accented with wealthy opalescent white Laborious enamel.

The Art Deco design of this Restricted Edition requires three separate stages of engraving. All the body of the pen is first cut right down to the extent of the background, leaving the outlines of the overlapping circles in top relief. The canvas pattern is then engraved onto the skin of the body of the pen. The third stage of engraving applies the sunburst motif to the skin of every circle, keeping up the point of interest center in top relief.

The ground of the barrel emulates a blasting cap (any other of Nobel’s inventions) engraved – in Swedish – with the words Varning (Warning) Tändhattar (Blasting Caps) and Fara (Danger).
Four levels of Guilloche engraving are hired at the barrel, depicting an explosive blast.
Four colors of Laborious Enamel are then kiln-fired to the skin of the barrel with out separation, merging outward from White to Yellow to Orange to Red.
By sharp contrast, the Nobel cap includes a easy repeating pattern of a White Dove: the international image for peace.
