Description

July 4th, 1776 is a date that modified the arena. It’s the day that declared the birth of an ideal nation and enshrined the rights of free and independent other people. Adopted by the Continental Congress, the Declaration of Independence announced that the 13 American colonies, then at war with Great Britain, were now independent states, and thus now not a part of the British Empire. Drafted by Thomas Jefferson and signed by 56 members of the Congress in pen and ink, it’s fitting that Visconti would commemorate this event with a great limited edition rollerball pen. Visconti uses its subtle scrimshaw strategy to replicate the whole text of the Declaration of Independence onto the pen’s ivory resin body. The writing is simply big enough to be legible to the naked eye – a specially engraved viewing glass is included to magnify the intricate main points. A duplicate of the painting, ‘Declaration of Independence’ by the American artist John Trumbull, is inscribed at the barrel. The ornate bands are cast in aged sterling silver including the blind cap engraved with an American bald eagle. Throughout the pen is an excessively special wonder: The top of the plunger mechanism is a Liberty Bell, the long-lasting image of American independence. The fountain pen holds the exceptional Visconti Dreamtouch 23K palladium nib that may be fantastically flexible and responsive. Limited to 776 pieces around the globe, magnifying glass are presented in a unique collector’s box crafted in American walnut with leather inset embossed with the declaration’s 56 signatures. Bottle fill handiest.
